Responsibilities
- Prepare tender and contract documents including bills of quantities and cost plans
- Review tender information to assess scope, risks, and opportunities
- Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with feasibility studies and procurement strategies
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Collaborate with operations and sites to monitor costs and progress
- Undertake site visits to measure works and gather valuation data
- Prepare interim valuations and payment applications including variations
- Produce cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates
- Monitor profitability and apply cost control measures
- Prepare subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts
- Support site teams with recording and documentation of completed works
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client requirements
- Assist in the commercial delivery of multiple surfacing and civil projects
Key requirements
- Proven quantity surveying experience within highways, asphalt surfacing, road construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing projects commercially from tender to final account
- Strong understanding of measurements, valuations, variations and payment applications
- Experience in forecasting, budget management, cost reporting and commercial risk management
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication, organisation and analytical abilities
- Full UK Driving Licence
