Overview

In this Quality Assurance role, you will lead QA activities on MBDA’s complex weapon system production lines in Bolton, supporting Manufacturing and Supply Chain. You’ll drive issue resolution, implement robust quality controls, and coordinate cross-functional teams to reduce production quality risks. You’ll apply standard problem-solving tools to industrialise processes and enhance non-conformance handling, contributing to UK strategic defence delivery. The role offers a collaborative environment, with opportunities to shape quality culture across sites and improve lifecycle deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate QA activities across Manufacturing Business Units to reduce production quality risks.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to resolve production line issues using standard problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
  • Oversee assurance activities during industrialisation of production lines.
  • Lead Project Manufacturing Non-Conformance Panels and escalate critical issues to senior management.
  • Perform non-conformance data analysis to identify trends and root causes for improvements.
  • Serve as primary interface to Customer for project contractual deliverables from Bolton facility.
  • Support project planning to meet contractual deliverables while adhering to MBDA policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to optimise processes.
  • Provide Quality reporting for Project, Manufacturing and Functional Programme Reviews.
  • Promote Quality culture and support continuous improvement and risk assessments.
  • Certify and release product to customers per contractual requirements.

Key requirements

  • Preferably degree educated or substantial experience in Quality Management
  • Practitioner of QA problem solving methods (8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence collaboratively
  • Highly self-motivated with persistence to deliver results
  • Willingness to travel UK and internationally, and to support at other MBDA sites
