Town Planning consultant

Overview

As part of a growing infrastructure planning team, you will shape consent strategies for nationally significant projects across energy, renewables, utilities, and transport. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams in a consultancy environment, guiding client relationships and stakeholder negotiations. Depending on level, you may lead expert witness work and drive project direction and business development. This role offers clear progression and long-term, secured project work in a collaborative, hybrid setup across multiple UK locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support consenting strategies for major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs, etc.)
• Coordinate and prepare planning applications
• Manage client relationships and multidisciplinary teams
• Lead stakeholder negotiations
• Act as Expert Witness at senior levels
• Oversee project direction and business development

Key requirements

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI (or working towards for junior levels)
• Experience delivering infrastructure or major project consents
• Consultancy experience preferred
• Strong project management and commercial awareness (senior levels)
