Construction Legal Director (Non contentious)

Overview

In this role you will lead non-contentious construction matters within a leading international law firm in Birmingham. You will advise on major development and regeneration projects and negotiate key contracts, while shaping client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. You will work closely with partners to grow the Birmingham construction practice and contribute to the firm’s Midlands expansion. This is a senior, visibility-driven position with scope for meaningful leadership and market impact.

Responsibilities

• Advise on major development and regeneration projects
• Draft and negotiate building contracts and appointments
• Prepare and review JCT and NEC documentation
• Handle development agreements and funding arrangements
• Support construction aspects of corporate transactions and real estate work
• Oversee procurement and project structuring
• Coordinate contractor and consultant appointments
• Provide general non-contentious construction advice

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor with significant experience in non-contentious construction
• Strong technical knowledge of construction law and documentation
• Established reputation and network within the Birmingham/Midlands market
• Strong commercial awareness and client management skills
