Associate/Sr Associate – Projects,Infrastructure & Construction

Overview

In this role, you will join the Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team to handle high-profile construction matters across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and real estate. You will advise on complexContractual issues, represent clients in disputes, and support projects from inception to post‑contract stages. You’ll build strong client relationships, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to tendering and strategic planning. This role offers hybrid flexibility and the chance to influence major construction projects within a collaborative, inclusive firm.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex contractual issues with partner support
• Represent clients in adjudication, arbitration, and court proceedings
• Support energy, infrastructure, housing, highways and student accommodation projects
• Advise on insolvency related to construction projects
• Engage with clients through post‑contract stages
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Mentor Trainees and Paralegals
• Support Partners on tenders and strategic planning
• Participate in business development and team growth

Key requirements

• 3-6 years PQE in contentious construction law (non-contentious experience welcome)
• Experience with complex construction disputes (delay, disruption, defects, payment claims)
• Familiarity with NEC, JCT, and FIDIC
• Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
• Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
• Client-focused approach and commitment to high-quality advice
