Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will own the commercial performance of a major enabling works package on a data centre project. You will work closely with the project team to secure commercial success from procurement through final account. The role blends contract administration, subcontractor management, and robust cost control within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. You will shape project outcomes through disciplined commercial leadership and mentoring of junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of a major enabling works package
• Administering NEC contracts and managing contractual obligations
• Procurement and management of subcontractors
• Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations and final accounts
• Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
• Managing change control and compensation events
• Building strong relationships with internal and client teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major construction projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
• Experience managing complex subcontract packages
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment
• Experience on infrastructure, enabling works, earthworks, groundworks or large-scale construction projects would be advantageous
