Overview

In this role you lead a team to design traffic signals and support delivery on projects across the North East. You collaborate with local authorities and contractors, using simulations and site parameters to optimise network capacity and reduce delays. You will use modelling and CAD tools to shape efficient signal configurations and mentor other staff. Responsibilities

  • Lead design work for traffic signals across the North East and support delivery of projects with partners
  • Advise and mentor colleagues and apprentices while following council policies
  • Utilise computer simulation models and site-based calculations to optimise network capacity and minimize non-delay
  • Work with software modelling packages and AutoCAD for complex configurations and programming
  • Ensure professional service delivery to programme targets and effective stakeholder communication

Key requirements

  • Proven track record and extensive recent experience in designing traffic signals
  • Self-motivated and driven; able to work across multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and meet productivity targets
  • Experience with traffic signal design, simulations, and related modelling tools
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and modelling software; ability to handle complex configurations and programming
