As an ambitious sales professional for The Economist Pro, you will grow our B2B client base across European mid-market organisations. You will take a consultative, solution-focused approach to selling our digital platform and content API to financial services and corporate markets. You’ll own a focused territory plan, nurture senior stakeholders, and close opportunities with efficient, high-quality engagements. This role sits at the intersection of geopolitics, economics, and policy intelligence, helping clients make better strategic decisions with trusted content. Responsibilities
- Own the full 360-degree sales cycle from prospecting to closing within the European mid-market segment.
- Proactively win net-new clients by building relationships with senior business, strategy, research, communications and technology stakeholders.
- Develop and execute a data-led go-to-market plan by country, sector and account.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of self-sourced opportunities and inbound leads.
- Conduct consultative discovery to map the platform and API to client outcomes.
- Present tailored proposals and negotiate with a small number of senior decision-makers to shorten sales cycles.
- Collaborate with marketing, customer success, product and editorial teams to ensure a strong client experience.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, activity and forecast data in Salesforce and use CRM insights to improve conversion.
- Meet activity, pipeline and revenue targets while managing risks and forecasting credibly.
- Share market intelligence and best practices with the wider team to strengthen the European mid-market proposition.
Key requirements
- Proven experience selling enterprise subscription, research, intelligence, media, data or information-based solutions to mid-market organisations
- Understanding of how leaders use global intelligence, policy analysis and economic insight to inform decisions
- Success in running efficient, high-velocity new-business sales cycles with limited key decision-makers
- Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and building pipeline via proactive prospecting
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and active-listening skills
- Commercial judgement to qualify challenges and develop practical solutions with colleagues and customers
- Growth mindset with continuous professional development and performance improvement
- Dynamic, highly organised self-starter who adapts to change in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Salesforce and SalesLoft is desirable but not essential
- Professional fluency in English; additional European languages are advantageous
