In this role you apply acoustic expertise to a diverse UK-based portfolio, shaping sound and vibration design across buildings, transport, and environmental projects. You join a collaborative Acoustics team within Ramboll’s London practice, contributing to high-profile landmarks and sustainable developments. You’ll model, survey, and report on noise and vibration issues, working closely with engineers and architects to integrate acoustic requirements. Responsibilities
- Undertake baseline environmental noise and vibration surveys and benchmark tests of existing buildings
- Apply standards (BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228, Pro PG) to projects
- Author technical planning and design reports
- Perform acoustic modelling using CADNA/A and Odeon
- Manage own workload and project delivery
- Prepare EIA for Residential/Masterplan, Roads, Bridges, and Industrial-led projects
- Conduct site inspections on building projects and PCT testing
- Liaise with Ramboll Environment & Health and Buildings teams
- Contribute to fee proposals, resource tracking and project profitability
- Communicate effectively with architects and other specialists to integrate acoustic requirements
- Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to growth and success
Key requirements
- Acoustic-related Degree
- IOA Diploma or Masters’ Degree
- Full driving license
- Relevant experience in acoustic consultancy
- Proven experience in project delivery and managing own workload
- Desire to or working towards CEng
- Associate Member of Institute of Acoustics (working towards MIOA)
- Proficient user of CADNA-A software
- Odeon experience beneficial
