Principal Landscape Architect

Overview

As a Principal Landscape Architect at AECOM, you will lead and deliver high-profile landscape schemes across urban regeneration, residential, and environmental projects. You’ll mentor a team within a multidisciplinary practice focused on sustainability, design excellence, and collaboration. You’ll engage clients, manage design delivery from feasibility to construction, and help shape transformational landscapes at scale. Responsibilities

• Oversee design and delivery of landscape schemes across project stages
• Manage project financials and programme milestones
• Present concepts to clients and represent AECOM’s design vision
• Mentor junior staff and support team development
• Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships; pursue new work
• Develop designs from feasibility through construction documentation and reports
• Produce technical drawings and documentation with appropriate software
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Administer contracts to ensure quality of delivery

Key requirements

• Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with at least three years post-qualification experience
• Proven track record in public realm design and multi-disciplinary project management
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system as it relates to landscape architecture
• Experience in project management, financial control, reporting, and programme management
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to engage clients and stakeholders
