Overview
In this role you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of semiconductor and photonic etch processes, supporting NPI and technology transfer. You will collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize yield, reduce defects, and accelerate cycle-time improvements in a state-of-the-art fab. The position offers hands-on process work in a cleanroom and the chance to influence manufacturing performance at scale. This is a mission-driven role in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve production processes
- Develop and qualify new semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Analyse process and equipment data to drive improvement
- Equipment qualification and cross-qualification to ensure supply and capacity
- Prepare technical documents, procedures, and training materials
- Ensure high equipment availability through control and monitoring
- Apply Lean techniques to boost performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D on NPI and tech transfer
- Lead or participate in yield improvement, defect reduction, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Work in a semiconductor cleanroom and follow safety protocols
- Utilise semiconductor manufacturing and data analysis software
- Adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures
Key requirements
- Experience in semiconductor, photonics, or advanced manufacturing environments (desirable)
- Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Competent PC user (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of photonic integrated circuit manufacture (advantage)
- MES knowledge (advantage)
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) (advantage)
