Senior Principal Civil Engineer (Water)

Overview

In this role you will lead civil design and delivery for water infrastructure projects within the Regulated Water Asset Design team. You will own project delivery aspects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and build strong client relationships to ensure outcomes and satisfaction. You’ll contribute to innovative approaches, digital products, and sustainability initiatives such as Future Ready and Net Zero. Responsibilities

• Take ownership for all aspects of project delivery including health & safety, technical, quality, schedule and budget
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams
• Shape the delivery of services and identify opportunities to deliver additional services
• Build relationships with clients to ensure project outcomes and satisfaction
• Contribute to innovative approaches, new services and digital products
• Contribute to the implementation of Future Ready and Net Zero programmes
• Act as an ambassador for best practice within the Asset Design team and client initiatives
• Undertake bid preparation, resource and budget development
• Line manage and support the professional development of graduate engineers and degree apprentices
• Contribute to recruitment and growth of the civil engineering team
• Continue career development in technical, managerial and leadership skills

Key requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status, or significant progression towards ICE or CIWEM
• Experience in managing engineering design teams comprising civil engineers and other disciplines
• Experience delivering projects to budget and schedule
• Acted in a checking or technical approval role on linear civil engineering infrastructure or industrial/process design
• Experience mentoring junior civil engineers
