In this role you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of structural projects across the UK, joining a close-knit, experienced team. You’ll work hands-on across design, analysis, and on-site delivery, tackling real-world structural challenges from concept to refurbishment. You’ll gain exposure to heritage work, including listed buildings and historic structures, while supporting long-term professional development toward Chartership. This position blends practical problem-solving with technical rigor to deliver buildable, durable solutions that shape project outcomes. Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, calculations, and design development
- Contribute to both temporary works and permanent refurbishment designs
- Assess existing structures and propose strengthening or repair solutions
- Engage in site visits and liaison with contractors and clients
- Support projects from concept through to site delivery with practical, buildable solutions
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to influence project outcomes
Key requirements
- 4+ years’ structural engineering experience (post-graduate)
- Experience in temporary works (TW) and permanent works / refurbishment design
- Strong analytical and design development skills
- Ability to assess existing structures and propose strengthening solutions
- Willingness to undertake site visits and client/contractor communication
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ambition to progress toward Chartership
- Chartered with IStructE or ICE preferred but not essential
