Director (Delay)

Overview

In this role you will lead delay and planning work within a specialist team at a respected consultancy. You will support delay expert witnesses, conduct forensic delay investigations, and contribute to complex arbitrations and disputes on international projects. You will collaborate with a global team to shape strategic approaches to delay analysis and advisory work. This is an opportunity to grow as an expert witness and influence high-value construction disputes.

Responsibilities

• Support delay expert witnesses and workload management
• Conduct forensic investigation of project delays
• Contribute to live project work in planning or distressed projects
• Provide independent opinions on delay matters for arbitrations and disputes
• Collaborate with Dubai, Middle East, and international team
• Identify best strategy for claims and disputes
• Prepare prospective and retrospective delay analyses
• Assimilate technical information and present in programmes and reports
• Draft written reports for negotiation and dispute resolution

Key requirements

• Experience as a Delay Consultant or Delay Senior Consultant
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Background in construction planning or management (>=5 years)
• Understanding of delay analysis methods and SCL protocol
• Ability to use Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject and/or MS Project
• Knowledge of NEC, JCT, and FIDIC contracts
• Experience with drafting delay-related reports and presenting to stakeholders
• Capability to explain technical material to non-technical audiences
• Willingness to support arbitration-related work (desirable)
