Overview

As Technical Specialist in the Transportation team, you will lead and shape the evaluation and benefits management practice. You will guide strategic initiatives, engage clients, and drive project delivery while supporting business development across the UK. You will oversee complex projects, mentor teams, and promote innovative evaluation methodologies, including the Magenta Book. You’ll work with cross‑functional leaders to secure new opportunities and deliver high‑impact outcomes for clients and their customers. Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership to grow the evaluation and benefits management work area
  • Client and stakeholder engagement with public and private sectors
  • Overseeing delivery of complex evaluation and benefits management projects
  • Business development and bid/proposal preparation in the evaluation domain
  • Team development, recruitment, mentoring and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Representing the firm at client meetings, industry events and conferences

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience in the evaluation field
  • Proven track record in design and implementation of Benefits Management
  • Strong analytical capabilities: data handling, statistics, economics, social value
  • Practical use of mixed methods in evaluation
  • Knowledge of transport planning principles and UK regulations in the UK&I
  • Understanding of AI platforms to assist evaluation and benefits management projects
  • Chartered status or membership in CIHT, TPS, or UK Evaluation Society
  • Higher degree in related field (Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning)
