Overview
In this role you will lead hydro-logic assessments for flood risk and water environment projects within a collaborative Hydrology team. You will shape and grow our hydrology capability while delivering high-profile work across the UK for public and private clients. You will supervise junior staff, refine technical approaches, and manage client relationships and project planning to support sustainable development. This position offers hybrid/remote options and opportunities to contribute to business growth and cross-functional project delivery. You will operate across diverse sites, balancing technical excellence with leadership and stakeholder engagement to improve flood resilience.

Responsibilities
- Leading delivery, review and QA of hydrological assessments for flood risk and water environment projects
- Mentoring and developing junior colleagues
- Developing and improving technical approaches, tools and methodologies
- Preparing fee proposals and supporting project planning and resource management
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders
- Contributing to business development and growth of flood risk and water environment services
- Carrying out desk-based technical work with occasional site visits and stakeholder meetings across the UK
Key requirements
- Extensive consultancy experience leading, reviewing and signing off hydrological assessments
- Strong experience delivering hydrological assessments for flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects
- Advanced knowledge of UK hydrological methods and guidance (FEH, ReFH2, WINFAP, LowFlows)
- Experience deriving design flows for fluvial modelling and flood risk studies
- Experience preparing and reviewing FRAs and SFRAs
- Good understanding of UK flood risk policy and climate change allowances
- Liaising with Environment Agency, SEPA, NRWs, LLFAs and key stakeholders
- Experience using GIS (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS)
- Excellent reporting, QA and mentoring abilities
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills
