Overview

In this Employment Partner role, you will lead and grow the Bristol employment practice within a national law firm. You will manage key client relationships and shape the firm’s employment offering for major national clients. As the face of the team locally, you’ll drive business development, coach junior lawyers, and push for innovation and best practices. This is a strategic leadership position with a strong focus on growth, client service, and shaping the department’s future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Bristol employment practice
  • Manage and expand relationships with major national clients
  • Act as the local face of the team and support business development
  • Deliver both contentious and non-contentious employment advice
  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic growth
  • Coach and develop junior lawyers
  • Drive innovation, efficiency and best practice across the team

Key requirements

  • 8+ years’ post-qualification experience
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining an employment practice
  • Established following (essential)
  • Strong sector knowledge and market awareness
  • Experience managing senior-level client relationships
  • Commercial mindset with revenue prioritisation understanding
  • Strong leadership skills to coach and inspire a team
  • Recognised external profile in the employment law sector
  • Ability to drive innovation and process improvement
  • Experience in a top-tier or national law firm environment
