Associate Director Direct Procurement

Overview

In this role, you drive strategic sourcing and category management for Bioprocessing raw materials to enable cost, quality, and supply chain improvements that support Lonza’s growth. You collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape resilient supplier bases and leverage market intelligence for competitive advantage. You will lead procurement initiatives that align with global strategies and digital tools to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing, tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier management for raw materials to build a resilient, innovative supply base
• Identify and mitigate supply risks; lead cross-functional continuity plans to protect performance
• Act as trusted advisor to business leaders with market insights and strategic guidance
• Develop supplier partnerships, drive performance improvements, and resolve quality/service/supply issues
• Support the rollout of global procurement strategies, processes, and digital tools while driving supplier performance measurement

• Basic understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices
• Strong leadership and influencing skills across global teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex challenges
• Proven ability to build and maintain global stakeholder relationships
• Expertise in strategic procurement disciplines: category management, supplier relationship management, contract management, negotiations, and procurement systems/tools
