Overview

In this hands-on role, you will promote a proactive HSE culture across our Great Yarmouth manufacturing sites, delivering expert guidance and supporting compliance. You’ll work with site leaders to reduce risk, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement of the HSE management system. You’ll engage employees across multiple sites and contribute to safety initiatives while aligning with NOV’s energy equipment mission. This position offers exposure to diverse manufacturing environments and international collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HSE advice and support to managers and employees
  • Promote a proactive HSE culture through coaching, communication and employee engagement
  • Conduct and review risk assessments with effective control measures
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Maintain and continuously improve Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits and improvement activities
  • Perform workplace inspections, audits and HSE monitoring across multiple sites
  • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and awareness training
  • Support contractor management and safe systems of work
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities, monitoring programmes and sustainability initiatives
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and performance data
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies when required

Key requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Experience in an HSE advisory role within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Leads by example and promotes a positive safety culture
  • Confident communicator across all levels
  • Solutions-focused problem solving
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Risk assessment and control implementation
