Overview

In this role you support Fleet Compliance to ensure operational continuity and regulatory adherence. You will work within a fast-moving public sector environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage attendance, payroll, and ICT support while producing compliance and cost reports. Your work influences vehicle purchasing decisions and service delivery across eight Fleet & Transport Service Departments. You will act as a key ICT contact and cover colleagues when needed, driving accurate, timely information for decision-making. This is a hands-on, data-driven position with a clear impact on efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • process fleet workshop job sheets
  • maintain records of daily staff attendance
  • process payroll information including overtime
  • liaise with suppliers and customers (external and internal)
  • act as ICT point of contact for eight Fleet & Transport Service Departments
  • provide cover for other Fuel, Hire & Compliance Officers as required
  • create reports for legislative compliance (e.g., drivers hours, MOT/service dates)
  • develop bespoke data reports and analyse whole life vehicle costs
  • prepare spreadsheets for charging out, invoicing and internal/external charging
  • monitor procedures and carry out internal audits across departments
  • provide operational support across all departments to ensure service delivery

Key requirements

  • experience in a fleet/vehicle/transport environment
  • experience processing job sheets and payroll information
  • high level computer literacy; manage information retention systems (manual and computerized)
  • understand administrative and financial procedures
  • ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • high accuracy, numeracy and literacy
  • excellent written and communications skills
  • time management and prioritisation
  • valid UK driving licence
