Overview

In this role you will lead fleet management across the national network, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective transport operations. You will partner with transport teams and stores/DCs to maintain service levels while optimising fleet size, location and performance. You will drive safety culture, investigate incidents and champion efficiencies and environmental practices. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative retail group that values learning and development and strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health, safety and compliance for fleet operations across sites and VMUs
  • Oversee on-time and in-full service delivery to stores and DCs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to instil best practices and risk-awareness
  • Optimize core fleet sizing, balance, and location to meet annual needs
  • Monitor costs, keep spend in line with budget, and address overspend
  • Manage 3rd-party servicing relationships through regular reviews
  • Ensure training materials meet ASW standards
  • Ensure driver working hours legislation compliance and site fleet maintenance
  • Support investigations of accidents/near-misses and implement corrective actions
  • Explore new technologies and equipment to improve efficiency and environmental practices
