Senior Consultant – Programme Management (Energy)

Overview

As a Senior Consultant, you will lead client-facing workstreams across mobilisation, governance and delivery improvement for major UK energy capital programmes. You’ll strengthen governance, controls and delivery capability, collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders. The role offers opportunities to shape delivery approaches, contribute to proposals, and grow our programme management capability within a collaborative advisory team.

Responsibilities

• Lead programme management, PMO or governance workstreams on major capital programmes
• Design and embed governance, controls, reporting and assurance frameworks tailored to clients
• Provide informed challenge on planning, risk, issues, dependencies and change management
• Support senior client stakeholders with performance reporting and governance materials
• Mobilise and improve PMO capability, including ways of working and management information
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, thought leadership and business development
• Support and develop junior colleagues within the team

Key requirements

• Relevant experience in programme management, PMO, project controls or capital delivery within a consultancy or large-scale infrastructure context
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Project Management, Business Management, Engineering, Science or Technology)
• Analytical, commercially aware and delivery-focused with ability to structure complex environments
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate insights clearly in written and visual formats

• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple priorities
• Proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to take on responsibility
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (reports, presentations, decision-support materials)
• Experience with governance, PMO, reporting, and assurance in capital programmes
