Overview

In this role you will join the Transaction Enrichment team to turn data into actionable product insights. You’ll evaluate AI-driven enrichment, develop hypotheses, and prototype tests to shape what the product ships. You’ll combine coding with product thinking to drive pragmatic improvements that land in the roadmap. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to translate findings into real changes, leveraging AI tools and data quality best practices. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at the heart of Zopa’s AI-first product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse enrichment data (Python & SQL) to quantify where enrichment falls short and build evidence for fixes
  • Surface product gaps and systemic issues through data patterns and recurring failures
  • Design practical behaviour of proposed solutions, including inputs, trade-offs, and cost/coverage
  • Build quick test harnesses to test hypotheses before engineering resources are committed
  • Design and run evaluations, including LLM-as-judge approaches, to signal impact of changes
  • Translate findings into clear recommendations for Product and Engineering to inform the roadmap and implementations
  • Stay updated on AI and data quality tooling to identify worthwhile enrichment techniques

Key requirements

  • 1–3 years in an analytical or technical role
  • experience in fintech, banking, or fast-paced data-led environments a plus but not required
  • comfortable coding in Python and SQL
  • experience with LLM APIs: calling, prompting, structuring outputs
  • strong hypothesis-driven thinking and scepticism interpreting results
  • clear communicator able to explain results to engineers, PMs, and stakeholders
  • ability to scope ambiguous problems, prioritise tests, and accept ‘good enough’ when appropriate
