Overview
In this role, you will lead rigorous credit analysis to build and manage a portfolio of floating-rate leveraged loans, supporting investment decisions and portfolio risk/return outcomes. You will work within the Credit Research Team to assess issuers, trends, and credit quality in both primary and secondary markets. You will develop and present credit memos, update on exposures, and communicate views to portfolio managers. This role offers impact across strategies in senior loans and CLO debt, within a culture of integrity and collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental credit analysis of companies issuing broadly syndicated floating-rate loans
- Evaluate credit risk across quantitative, qualitative, structural and relative value factors
- Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models focused on cash flow and valuation
- Prepare and present written credit investment memos and recommendations
- Monitor issuer performance against underwriting expectations and alert on emerging risks
- Analyze loan documentation and covenants for structural protections under scenarios
- Engage with management teams, sponsors, advisors, and other stakeholders for due diligence and sourcing
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and senior investment professionals to align views across sectors
Key requirements
- 7-15 years of direct experience analyzing leveraged loans, syndicated credits, high-yield or leveraged finance transactions
- Strong financial modeling skills including cash flow, valuation, and stress testing
- Deep understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, credit metrics, and qualitative factors like industry dynamics and management strength
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for memos and presentations
- Prior experience with portfolio monitoring, relative-value analysis, and trading desk collaboration
- Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and risk-management frameworks for leveraged credit investments
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic market
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg and/or other credit research tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus
