Overview

As a Senior Risk Manager at Mace, you provide strategic risk leadership across major infrastructure programmes, partnering with clients and project teams to identify and manage risk. You develop risk management frameworks and assurance strategies, facilitate risk workshops, and deliver qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, aligning with PMO and project controls to drive performance. You will mentor risk professionals and contribute to growing our risk capability. This role focuses on aviation, rail, highways, ports and transportation programmes and supports a safety‑driven, client‑focused culture.

Responsibilities

  • Direct risk management activities across major infrastructure programmes and projects
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, governance and assurance strategies
  • Facilitate risk and opportunity workshops with clients, consultants and delivery teams
  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative risk analysis including schedule and cost risk assessments
  • Support project teams in identifying mitigation strategies and maximizing opportunities
  • Produce insightful risk reporting and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Ensure risk mitigation plans are actively managed and embedded in project delivery plans
  • Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor on risk management matters
  • Manage and mentor risk professionals and support capability development across the business
  • Collaborate with PMO, planning and project controls to integrate risk management into wider delivery processes
  • Contribute to business development, bids and winning work opportunities

Key requirements

  • Significant experience leading risk management on major infrastructure or construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of risk management methodologies, governance and assurance frameworks
  • Experience conducting and interpreting quantitative risk analysis
  • Expertise with risk management tools such as Active Risk Manager (ARM), RiskHive, Primavera Risk Analysis or similar
  • Ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Experience facilitating workshops and communicating complex risk issues to non-technical audiences
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing others
  • Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience across rail, highways, aviation, ports or other major infrastructure sectors
  • Knowledge of Power BI, data analytics and reporting tools
  • Experience working in both consultancy and client-side environments
  • Professional membership with organisations such as APM or IRM
  • A relevant degree in engineering, project management, risk management or related discipline
