Overview

In this VP FICC Engineer role, you design and deliver software for institutional clients to trade across fixed income, currencies and commodities, enabling efficient risk, positions and P&L management. You will leverage AI to build solutions and integrate it into trading workflows, collaborating with traders, sales, strategists and operations globally. You’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle in a fast-paced, scale-driven environment. This position sits at the intersection of technology and markets, shaping how FICC teams operate at speed.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with users to understand business workflows and define requirements
  • Implement new software solutions and enhancements to existing systems
  • Contribute to quality control including code and design reviews
  • Provide L3 application support
  • Provide technical support to trading, sales and operations
  • Review incidents, identify root causes and define follow-up actions
  • Collaborate with regional counterparts to gain exposure to local markets and products
  • Embrace AI to design and build solutions and integrate AI into trading workflows

Key requirements

  • STEM degree
  • Strong hands-on programming in Java or Python
  • Proficient in AI-assisted development
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and performance-oriented design
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with traders and salespeople
  • Experience in Java or Python (5+ years)
  • Experience in Slang/SecDB
  • Experience in messaging middleware such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Experience in developing and testing distributed systems
