Overview

As a Landing Gear Service Technician, you support airlines and maintenance houses by inspecting, repairing and certifying landing gear systems. You work onsite and in our maintenance facility, upholding airworthiness and safety while handling diverse aircraft programmes across international settings. You will diagnose issues, interpret manuals, and perform precision testing to restore components to service. This role combines hands-on work with customer interaction, offering growth in a global aerospace environment. You’ll contribute to safe, reliable air travel and continuous improvement in maintenance quality.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, overhaul, assemble and test landing gear systems per maintenance data and airworthiness requirements
  • Support onsite maintenance and recertification at customer facilities worldwide
  • Diagnose technical issues and determine repair actions to meet performance, reliability and safety standards
  • Interpret manuals, drawings and service bulletins to complete maintenance accurately
  • Perform detailed inspections using precision measuring and testing equipment
  • Exercise certification responsibilities per airworthiness approvals
  • Respond to AOG and urgent maintenance requests with professional technical support
  • Build and maintain tooling required for onsite maintenance
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality and operations to resolve issues and meet delivery commitments
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency

Key requirements

  • Engineering Apprenticeship
  • 5 years’ aviation experience or equivalent
  • Experience in landing gear maintenance
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and technical drawings
  • Dexterity with precision measuring tools
  • Understanding of electrical circuits
  • Willingness to travel worldwide on short notice
  • Experience in Human Factors, risk management and working at height
  • UK driving licence
  • Willing to gain forklift and MEWP licences
  • Root-cause problem solving and effective decision-making
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong communication, teamwork and integrity
  • Knowledge of QMS, Lean Sigma and 5S principles
