Overview

In this role you will be the primary legal point of contact for UK and EMEA client matters, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, and managing contract systems. You will provide privacy, advertising, and data protection guidance, support governance and risk initiatives, and develop knowledge resources for the business. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to enable commercial growth while balancing risk. Responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for UK/EMEA client legal matters and handle commercial contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in line with MVF’s risk framework
  • Maintain contract management system and onboarding processes, including logging and storing contracts
  • Identify market trends in contract terms and liaise with stakeholders
  • Develop and update standard contracts, privacy policies, and website terms
  • Create and maintain contract playbooks for UK/ROW legal aspects
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries and advise on privacy, advertising, and data/consumer protection matters
  • Monitor legal developments and provide guidance; create training materials and a legal knowledge hub
  • Deliver training on commercial matters, consumer protection, data privacy, and contract management
  • Support the credit team with debt collection
  • Advise on IP matters, employment matters, and project leadership in specialist areas
  • Support governance, ESG, and board matters with policy creation and governance activities
  • Assist General Counsel with due diligence and transaction support on acquisitions/disposals
  • Lead corporate support workstreams including post-acquisition structuring and capital events
  • Manage filings and corporate records across jurisdictions
  • Support legal technology tools and act as escalation point for MVF UK Counsel
  • Drive process improvements in LGR processes and stakeholder engagement
  • Instruct and manage external counsel when approved, including budgets and scopes
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and balance business needs with risk
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, proactive approach and continuous personal improvement

Key requirements

  • University degree, law or otherwise, and qualified lawyer in England & Wales with current practicing certificate
  • 3–5 years PQE in commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, or corporate/governance in the UK
  • In-house experience with a fast-paced, growing business and portfolio company environment is beneficial (not required)
