Responsibilities

• Lead and architect the research strategy for applying AI to cybersecurity
• Drive innovation in AI applications including reasoning, summarisation, and interactivity
• Make strategic decisions on GenAI model architectures, training approaches, and deployment strategies
• Implement cutting-edge ML/AI research in cybersecurity
• Build production-ready AI systems that operate at CrowdStrike’s scale
• Mentor and guide scientists, promoting engineering excellence
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and align technical strategy with business goals
• Represent CrowdStrike’s technical excellence through publications, speaking engagements, and thought leadership
• Establish best practices, technical standards, and evaluation frameworks for the team

Key requirements

• 8+ years of applied machine learning / research experience with production-grade models
• Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• Deep expertise in LLM and deep learning training and deployment at scale
• Bias-for-action and ability to make high-judgement decisions in ambiguity
• Strong technical leadership, including mentoring teams and driving strategy
• Advanced knowledge of Python, Deep Learning frameworks, and cloud technologies
• Expert-level understanding of GPU technologies and optimisation techniques
• Outstanding communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
