Small Works Manager

Overview

In this senior role, you will lead the operational delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial small works across Aberdeen. You’ll work with project and site teams to ensure programmes, quality, safety and client relationships are maintained while driving profitability and growth of the division. You will shape how projects are mobilised, delivered and handed over, balancing risk, cost control and site performance. This is an opportunity to influence a multi-project operation within a well-established contractor and contribute to its ongoing expansion.

Pay / Benefits

• salary circa 75,000 plus package

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the small works division
• Manage multiple projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover
• Provide leadership and direction to project and site teams
• Monitor programme, costs, resources, quality and health & safety across projects
• Ensure projects are delivered profitably and in line with budgets
• Support project teams with operational and commercial decision-making
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners
• Identify operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
• Support the growth of the divisions and help develop the existing team structure
• Ensure consistent standards across both locations

Key requirements

• Significant experience managing multiple commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance or general commercial construction
• Experience overseeing projects/divisions with turnover of several million pounds
• Strong leadership and people-management experience
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability
• Ability to manage multiple teams and projects across different locations
