In this role you will shape Elsevier’s long-term direction by leading enterprise-wide strategy planning and cross-functional initiatives. You’ll work with senior leaders to translate priorities into actionable roadmaps and present strategic insights to executive teams and the Board. You’ll guide high-impact projects that span multiple business areas, driving growth, transformation, and alignment with the company’s mission. Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for Elsevier’s portfolio in collaboration with Finance and the strategy team
- Develop mid- and long-term roadmaps, allocating resources effectively
- Collaborate with EVP Strategy to shape the Elsevier strategy
- Coordinate with Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, HR, and Corporate Affairs to align priorities
- Articulate strategy narrative and communicate direction to stakeholders
- Support delivery of strategic reports to Leadership Teams and the Board; provide analysis for Investor Relations
- Scoping and executing strategic projects with data and market analysis, synthesis, and recommendations
- Drive cross-Elsevier strategic initiatives and track progress against objectives and metrics
Key requirements
- Ability to lead portfolio-level strategic thinking in a complex organisation
- Experience creating strategic roadmaps and translating priorities into action plans
- Strong stakeholder management with influence across senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities including market and data analysis
- Experience leading strategic projects from scoping to execution and recommendation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
