Overview

In this role you will be the expert engineer for BNY’s Physical Security platforms, focusing on operating and modernizing enterprise security systems. You’ll lead engineering efforts across global teams, migrating to Genetec for access control and CCTV while integrating non-Genetec solutions. You’ll plan upgrades, manage incidents, and onboard biometrics and video analytics to strengthen security controls. Collaborate across security operations, network, cybersecurity, and facilities to align technology with business needs. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at scale with a strong modernization focus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end engineering support for the global Physical security applications.
  • Migrate from legacy systems to Genetec (architecture, cutover planning, device onboarding, integrations, data/credential migrations, stakeholder communications).
  • Plan and execute system updates, firmware upgrades, patches; validate rollback plans and change records.
  • Support break/fix and incident management across the Physical Security application space.
  • Onboard and implement emerging technology solutions such as biometrics and video analytics.
  • Partner with Physical Security operations, Network/Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk/Compliance, and Facilities/Real Estate to align platform capabilities with business needs and controls.

Key requirements

  • Experience in physical security engineering with leadership of engineering teams or global/remote management.
  • Hands-on with CCure 9000, Victor Video, Genetec Security solutions (architecture/design, configuration, onboarding, operations at enterprise scale).
  • Experience migrating from legacy PACS/CCTV platforms to Genetec with cutover strategies and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong Windows and Linux server administration; SQL, PowerShell, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, multicast/unicast, QoS, VPN, firewall); collaborate with network teams on resilient architectures.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices, vulnerability management, identity/access governance, and logging/SIEM integrations; partner with Cyber and Risk/Compliance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; comfortable driving outcomes across business and technology partners.
