Overview
As Financial Accountant at Starbucks EMEA, you will prepare monthly management and year-end accounts with strong governance and accuracy. You’ll collaborate across the business to support UK accounting and reporting, drawing on experience with large multi-site operations. You will shape processes and automation opportunities while ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS16, and local regulations. This role offers variety, impact, and ownership over financial statements and controls, in a supportive, diverse environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide accounting support for the area and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements
- Maintain monthly management accounts and related P&L and balance sheet responsibilities
- Produce statutory accounts and supporting schedules
- Prepare monthly/quarterly P&L and balance sheet variance analyses with commentary
- Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts
- Record accruals and other journal entries from stakeholder meetings
- Establish and maintain accounting controls compliant with internal policies and regulations
- Create and update process documentation for responsibilities
- Coordinate with external tax and accounting providers as needed
Key requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or international equivalent)
- strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS16
- advanced double entry and bookkeeping knowledge
- experience with large ERP systems (Oracle, HFM, Anaplan XL)
- excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-accountants
