Associate – Banking & Finance

Overview

In this role you join Mills & Reeve’s national banking and finance team to handle complex, high-value transactions from Birmingham or Leeds. You will support banks, lenders and borrowers on a range of financing matters while developing your own profile through client contact and cross-team collaboration. The role blends advisory work with business development in a supportive, growth-focused firm culture. You will contribute to a variety of financing disciplines and help strengthen client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Advise banks, alternative lenders, funds, borrowers and other organisations on diverse financing transactions
• Work across corporate banking, real estate finance and leveraged/asset-based lending
• Support government finance, debt capital markets and private equity financing in M&A and property deals
• Contribute to funding arrangements for universities and not-for-profit institutions
• Engage in business development and build client relationships within Birmingham or Leeds
• Participate in the firm’s network and professional communities

Key requirements

• 0 to 3 years’ PQE with substantial banking and finance experience in a recognised practice
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Initiative, commercial awareness and attention to detail
