Overview
In this role you will lead mechanical engineering projects within the building services sector, with a emphasis on MOD deliveries. You will work with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to drive projects from inception through completion while establishing and growing a new Lancashire office. You will provide technical guidance, oversee design and construction deliverables, and ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are met. This is a pivotal, client-facing position that blends leadership, technical excellence, and strategic office setup to enable rapid regional impact.

Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical projects in building services with focus on MOD work
- Build and sustain relationships with clients, contractors and MOD representatives
- Provide technical guidance across feasibility, concept, detailed design and construction
- Oversee production of specifications, calculations, drawings, and reports
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify progress and compliance
- Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and standards
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent accreditation
- Extensive building services experience with MOD project delivery
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards
- Proficiency with design software and tools
- Demonstrated leadership and team-management ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with proactive problem-solving
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote-to-office transition
