Overview

As a Technical Business Analyst at Adaptive, you help turn complex trading technology initiatives into deliverable outcomes. You bridge technical and business stakeholders, shaping requirements and ensuring alignment across ambiguous scenarios. You work closely with engineering and QA to translate solutions into structured backlog items and verifiable acceptance criteria. You contribute to architecture discussions and focus on performance, scalability, and reliability in distributed systems. This role offers a practical, product-driven environment where collaboration and clear communication accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Shape requirements in ambiguous environments and drive alignment
  • Translate complex technical solutions into backlog items and testable stories
  • Define acceptance criteria and QA validation needs upfront
  • Support planning, estimation, and prioritisation with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with QA, architecture, and engineering to clarify failure scenarios and distinguish bugs from enhancements
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to drive clarity and sound decisions
  • Assist in delivery, release processes, and alignment with business objectives

Key requirements

  • Strong technical and domain-driven mindset
  • Experience in QA, software engineering, Technical Business Analysis, or similar highly technical environments
  • Understanding of distributed systems and state machine concepts
  • Ability to define functional and non-functional requirements clearly
  • Experience in Agile or Kanban across the full SDLC
  • Contributions to architecture and design discussions
  • Ability to create process flows, sequencing diagrams, and aligned documentation
  • Ability to translate requirements into backlog items and acceptance criteria
