Overview
As a BIM specialist within Mace’s Technical Services, you will guide BIM delivery across projects, shaping information management and digital handover strategies. You will collaborate with the project team, clients, and design disciplines to ensure ISO 19650 alignment, governance, and secure information practices. You will mentor teams, develop BEPs, and stay current with BIM innovations, contributing to net-zero commitments and client-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Support the project team through the full lifecycle
- Assess current project resources to meet goals
- Conduct candidate interviews for BIM roles
- Develop BIM execution plan (BEP)
- Develop and maintain client digital handover strategy
- Maintain understanding of ISO19650 and applicable standards
- Ensure information security protocols for project information
- Implement governance and assurance processes
- Monitor digital handover to completion
- Produce information requirements (OIR/AIR/PIR/EIR) per ISO 19650
- Create information standards, methods, and shared resources
- Raise job requisitions to recruit BIM talent
- Research compliance with new regulations and governance
- Develop object library aligned with BIM strategy
- Assure and check Information Model; produce Information Model (Pre-RIBA Stage 3)
- Review Autodesk Construction Cloud account management and stay updated on Autodesk developments
- Review current technology solutions and explore new BIM technologies
- Support construction sequencing using information models
- Assist Mace Cost team in cost plans from information models
- Provide training on databases, data analysis, templates, assurance, COBie, and other BIM topics
- Upskill client team, Mace PM and design teams via BIM knowledge sessions
- Collaborate with Mace PM and Design teams on procedures and compliance with Mace Way
- Identify and implement continuous improvement plans
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships
- Manage senior stakeholders and contribute to net-zero carbon transition
Key requirements
- Level 6 qualifications (or equivalent)
- Degree apprenticeship or honours degree (BA Hons, BSc Hons)
- Advanced understanding of ISO19650, BS1192, CDE, IFC, COBie, and classifications
