Overview

In this role you will lead electrical engineering efforts for transformative water-sector projects, guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design solutions. You will work across client, construction and operations interfaces to support risk-managed delivery of critical UK infrastructure. The role offers opportunities to influence technical direction, mentor colleagues, and contribute to business growth in a collaborative, inclusive environment with hybrid working. You’ll be engaged on landmark projects domestically and internationally, with a clear impact on the sector.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate or manage an Electrical & ICA engineers team for complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Manage time and budgets to key milestones
  • Produce technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture
  • Provide technical input into electrical design deliverables and work with project management to meet milestones
  • Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service teams
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow the Electrical & ICA capabilities
  • Work independently with minimal technical guidance and solve difficult problems
  • Provide technical support for bid proposals
  • Work with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated designs
  • Adhere to QA standards and review own and others’ work
  • Contribute to business development initiatives in the water market

Key requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Experience coordinating or managing an Electrical engineering design delivery team in a design consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design practices and water company design codes (e.g., WIMES)
  • Experience with HAZOP, lightning risk, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR/ATEX practices
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Trimble/Amtech)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Experience in water market preferred but not required
  • Experience in industrial and process environments
