Overview
In this role, you will provide highly specialised psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions for women in the perinatal period within a multidisciplinary Brent & Harrow team. You will contribute to assessment, formulation, care planning and risk management, and offer expert consultation to professionals and families. You will work autonomously within guidelines, support service development, and help shape recovery-oriented care pathways with cross-service collaboration.
Responsibilities
- conduct highly specialist psychological assessments using diverse data sources
- formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans across care settings
- develop and deliver specialist treatment protocols for severe perinatal disorders
- act as Lead Professional coordinating care and supervising MDT involvement
- perform risk assessment and risk management with inter-agency guidance
- ensure safeguarding frameworks are followed and contribute to safeguarding practices
- provide psychological reports, testing, and feedback to clients, families, and courts as required
- attend MDT meetings and contribute to group therapy activities where capacity permits
- provide consultation, supervision, and training to non-psychology colleagues
Key requirements
- Good Honours degree in Psychology (2.1 or above)
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and HCPC registration
- eligible for BPS Chartered status
- significant CPD and supervised experience demonstrating specialist expertise
- experience with complex mental health problems, perinatal presentations, and trauma-focused work (Desirable)
- training in EMDR/trauma-focused CBT (Desirable)
- exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to present complex information clearly
