As a Civil Engineer within the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project team, you will apply civil engineering design expertise to deliver value-driven solutions for water infrastructure. You will work in a multi-disciplinary setting to develop outputs that meet standards, budgets, and timelines, while prioritising safety in design. The role offers exposure to large-scale water transfer works and opportunities to progress toward professional chartership. You’ll contribute to shaping reliable water supplies and flood-resilient infrastructure within a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
- Develop innovative designs that balance performance and value for money
- Produce calculations and specifications for water/pipeline projects and coordinate with CAD engineers for construction drawings in CAD, BIM, and GIS
- Deliver design outputs on time within budget in a multi-discipline design team
- Own the design and related activities within the SPA programme
- Promote safety in design and reduce hazards in line with alliance CDM procedures
Key requirements
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (minimum)
- solid industry experience, preferably in water sector
- experience in designing civil engineering structures (water-related preferred)
- proficiency with MS Office and engineering design software
- familiarity with British Standards and Eurocodes
- ability to interpret ground investigation reports
