Lift Call Out Engineer- Nights

Overview

As a Lift Service Engineer (Nights) you ensure reliable lift performance for a prestigious London contract. You will perform planned maintenance, minor repairs and component lifecycle work, reducing downtime and callbacks. The role operates on a 4 on 4 off night schedule and emphasizes safety and compliance. You’ll work closely with clients, service leaders and Inspectors to keep equipment safe and available, contributing to Schindler’s mission of safer urban mobility.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repairs and component replacements per approved procedures
• Rectify faults during breakdowns and verify correct functioning
• Check speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature, and power supply using approved tooling and PPE
• Inspect and adjust installations, reinstate lifts and complete service documentation
• Perform fault finding and diagnostics using manuals and test equipment to restore service
• Interpret written/graphical information to support maintenance activities

Key requirements

• Experience in lift servicing/maintenance/repairs (preferred)
• NVQ Level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment
• Advanced problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving license
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to work independently with a flexible approach
• Good communication skills at client, team lead and inspector levels
• Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks and tool use
• Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
