Overview
In this role you will support a major water infrastructure project with Thames Water within Murphy’s Infrastructure team. You’ll ensure regulatory permits and environmental controls are in place, and manage day‑to‑day environmental activities on site. You will collaborate with site teams, clients and regulators to drive compliant, sustainable delivery. The role offers impact across inspections, reporting, and biodiversity protection within a large AMP8 programme.

Responsibilities
- Obtain permits, licences and approvals before works commence
- Oversee day‑to‑day environmental management of construction activities
- Liaise with site teams, clients, stakeholders and the environmental team
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits
- Interpret data and write detailed reports
- Stay up to date with changes in environmental law
- Create waste management datasets
- Ensure biodiversity recommendations are implemented and protected species undisturbed
- Review risk assessments, management plans, method statements and related documents
- Deliver toolbox talks or environmental briefings to site personnel and subcontractors
- Liaise with authorities as required
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, company and JV policies and processes
Key requirements
- Proven experience of site audits/inspections and producing environmental reports
- Knowledge of implementing environmental controls to meet DCO/planning conditions
- Ability to lead investigations into environmental incidents
- Ability to train others on EMS and environmental processes (e.g., TBTs)
- Experience in waste management and KPI reporting
