Finance Director (Operational)

Overview

In this Finance Director role you lead the finance function for a fast-moving, multi-entity international business in the creative/production space. You will drive operational excellence, strengthen controls, and partner with senior stakeholders to support growth. The position sits at the heart of transformation with hands-on, detail-driven leadership. You’ll shape finance processes and reporting to enable scalable growth and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance across multiple entities
• Oversee monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Improve financial controls, governance and reporting accuracy
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive performance
• Monitor project profitability, resource utilization and cost management
• Support finance transformation initiatives (systems and processes)
• Improve management information for senior leadership
• Oversee cash flow and working capital
• Build scalable finance processes for growth
• Act as trusted adviser to senior stakeholders

Key requirements

• Experience in fast-paced, project-driven environments
• Financial leadership role (FD, FC, or Head of Finance)
• Experience in creative/production/agenc y or professional services or other project-based businesses
• Strong financial control and reporting expertise
• Delivery-focused, practical approach
• Ability to balance commercial insight with operational execution
• Experience managing complex stakeholder groups
• Strong systems and process improvement capabilities
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred but not essential
