Associate Transport Planner

Overview

In this role you contribute to a broad transport planning programme across the South West, joining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You’ll work on strategic land developments, infrastructure schemes and public sector commissions, helping deliver transport assessments, travel plans and technical studies. The position offers mentoring, training and clear progression toward professional qualifications in a supportive environment. You’ll impact project delivery, client engagement and stakeholder coordination at varying project scales.

Responsibilities

• Support the technical delivery of transportation projects
• Produce Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
• Undertake transport studies and associated technical analysis
• Support junction modelling and analysis work
• Liaise with clients, design teams, local authorities and stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior team members

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in transportation, geography, engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans with junction modelling/analysis skills and use of relevant software
• Strong numerical ability with experience managing project budgets and quality
• Working towards (or keen to achieve) a professional qualification such as TPP
• Proven track record in project delivery, client management and stakeholder engagement
