Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

Senior Civil Engineer at Mott MacDonald Bentley drives civil design across water and wastewater projects from concept to commissioning. You’ll shape civil functions within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring designs meet standards and integrate with other disciplines. You’ll engage with clients, support delivery improvements, and mentor engineers to grow the team. Responsibilities

• Provide design support and ensure schemes meet legislation and standards
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver practical, safe solutions
• Engage with clients and support a one-team approach to achieve aims
• Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines; produce documentation
• Act as technical checker and conduct design reviews across projects
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery through standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems
• Develop and mentor civil engineering team, allocating resources and supporting career growth

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
• CEng chartership with a relevant Engineering Institution
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality outputs aligned with design, quality and safety standards
• Effective communication with team and stakeholders
• Methodical problem-solving approach
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
