Overview

In this role you will manage and deliver large-scale fire safety projects from early design to handover within an award-winning consultancy. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, provide technical input aligned to current codes and guidance, and oversee project performance and client engagement. The position combines project leadership with business development and knowledge sharing to advance safety-focused architectural outcomes. This is a hybrid, London-based opportunity with exposure to diverse UK projects and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage complex or large-scale fire safety projects from RIBA Stage 1 to completion
  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Surveyors and Consultants across the team
  • Provide technical consultancy and design input aligned to latest codes, standards, and regulations
  • Oversee project budgets, invoicing, scheduling and performance monitoring
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to support delivery of project KPIs
  • Support business development and help secure repeat and new work through strong relationships
  • Identify and share CPD and upskilling opportunities within the team
  • Report to the Project Director and collaborate with senior colleagues company-wide

Key requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in fire or building consultancy
  • Must be MRICS, MCABE, MIFIREE, MCIOB or working towards
  • Enhanced understanding of fire safety design and guidance for different buildings
  • A good knowledge of regulatory process
  • Ability to mentor / manage more junior members of staff
  • Understanding of building pathology, building concepts, construction typology and building materials
  • Experience with cladding & facades / EWS1
  • UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
