Overview
In this role you will work within MBDA’s Guidance, Control and Navigation team to research, develop, test and evaluate navigation algorithms for complex guided weapons systems. You will collaborate across contract and research activities that touch multiple delivery areas, gaining insight into related disciplines. You will contribute to feasibility studies, early concept development and upgrades for in-service products, shaping the future of our navigation capabilities. This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities to impact mission-critical systems and work on cutting-edge algorithms.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate navigation algorithms for weapon systems
- Conduct research studies and investigations for future developments
- Support feasibility studies and initial concept development for upgrades
- Validate and verify algorithms across lifecycle stages
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into broader systems
- Participate in externally and internally funded research programs
Key requirements
- Ideally PhD or degree with strong mathematical content
- Experience with real-time programming, validation and verification
- Strong programming skills, particularly MATLAB
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art navigation algorithms and design principles
- Experience in navigation algorithm testing and comparative evaluation
