Overview

As a Shift Engineer on a prestigious contract in London Bridge, you will perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems. You’ll work a days/nights continental pattern, ensuring reliability and minimal disruption to building operations. You’ll troubleshoot using alarm data and graphical information, and you’ll support asset management to drive performance improvements. This role offers growth, hands-on technical challenge, and a chance to contribute to high‑standard facilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold critical services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine PPM on electrical and mechanical plant per site schedules and asset lists
  • Complete reactive tasks and identify improvement opportunities, including stores and fabric items
  • Rectify plant faults quickly to keep equipment in serviceable order
  • Maintain suitable spares and provide estimates for remedial works
  • Keep Computer Based Maintenance system (e.g., Concept, Smart Hub) updated; close tickets with accurate data
  • Ensure paperwork for reactive/breakdown works is passed to the contract administrator promptly
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for safe working practices
  • Keep plant rooms locked, clean, and tidy

Key requirements

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering discipline trained to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3
  • Knowledge of Air conditioning, UPS, Generators, LV systems
  • Ability to fault find using graphical information and alarm data
  • Experience with CMMS/maintenance systems and ticket close processes
  • Safe working practices and ability to prepare RAMS
