Overview
In this role you will steer the development and implementation of quality principles across the Operating Unit, aligning with group quality teams. You’ll coach colleagues, strengthen assurance and drive improvements to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality delivery. You will lead internal and external audits, plus accreditation processes, and manage documentation to stay current and compliant. This position offers the chance to shape a culture of excellence and collaborate across cross-functional teams and regions. You will work with management and project teams to ensure continuous quality enhancement and effective governance.
Responsibilities
- Embed a quality culture across the OU and identify continuous improvement projects
- Lead internal and external audits and accreditations, act as OU focal point for auditors
- Design, implement and review SSHEQ policies, procedures, templates and guidance
- Deliver quality and SSHEQ training, collaborate across units and with the Quality Director
- Chair quarterly support services meetings and manage minutes and actions
- Monitor customer feedback and manage the corrective actions programme
Key requirements
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 with Lead Auditor qualifications
- Strong organisation, communication, coaching, training and MS Office skills
- Commitment to CPD
- CQI Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI) membership or willingness to achieve
- SSHEQ legislative knowledge and understanding of the project lifecycle (desirable: MAPM)
- Rail sector experience with RISQS, Sentinel and CIRAS portals (desirable)
