Overview

In this role, you contribute to a diverse transportation portfolio across Ontario by leading environmental planning work for roads, bridges, transit, airports, and marine facilities. You will guide Municipal Class EA, provincial and federal EAs, and permitting strategies, coordinating inputs from specialists. You’ll design and run stakeholder engagement programs with regulators, First Nations, and the public, and deliver reports and proposals tailored to client needs. You’ll manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while supporting business development and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental planning tasks and deliverables for transportation projects
  • Lead or contribute to Municipal Class EA, provincial and federal EA projects and design assignments
  • Coordinate permitting and approvals, including desktop reviews and agency input
  • Design and implement consultation programs for regulators, First Nations, stakeholders, and the public
  • Prepare reports, proposals, consultation materials, meeting records, and technical memoranda
  • Communicate with clients, agencies, Indigenous communities, the public, and internal teams
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk for tasks
  • Support business development through proposals and client relationship activities
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment

Key requirements

  • Strong understanding of environmental planning, EA, permitting, and approvals for infrastructure projects
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate technical input
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Strong listening, judgment, and problem-solving abilities in client and stakeholder contexts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables with attention to detail
  • Experience managing tasks, schedules, budgets, and delivering projects with increasing responsibility
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently with guidance
